Corumbau is a spit of sand between the river and the sea, inside an extractive reserve. It is the most isolated place Hōma covers, and the quietest. The village has a few houses, a school and a handful of guesthouses.
The reef shelters the coast and forms a long natural pool at low tide. Fishing is still the main activity, and you can arrange a boat trip with someone who goes out every day anyway.
There is no cash machine here, mobile signal comes and goes and the shop is small. Worth arriving stocked up.
Getting there. About 2h from Porto Seguro, nearly all of it on dirt roads. In the rainy season, a high-clearance car is advisable.
