Cumuruxatiba is the south of the south: a long open-sea beach, coconut groves behind it and a village that still lives from fishing. It sits in the municipality of Prado, one of the furthest villages from Porto Seguro among those Hōma covers.
The shoreline is long and almost always empty. To the north are the cliffs of the Parque Nacional do Descobrimento, and between July and November you can watch humpback whales from the beach, with no boat at all.
The village has a market, guesthouses and simple restaurants. It is the kind of place where you get around on foot and know people within three days.
Getting there. About 3h from Porto Seguro, or 1h from Prado. The road is long, and that is what keeps the place as it is.
