Prado is the town where the Jucuruçu river meets the sea, with a small, charming historic centre — the Beco das Garrafas, a lane of colourful little houses, has become its postcard.
The beaches stretch both ways: to the north, cliffs and near-empty stretches on the way to Cumuruxatiba; to the south, the wide sands of Novo Prado. These are beaches for long walks and deep breaths.
The town has full amenities and life all year round, without losing its small-town ways. From here you can drive to Guaratiba, Cumuruxatiba and the cliffs of the Parque Nacional do Descobrimento.
Getting there. About 3h from Porto Seguro on the BR-101 via Itamaraju; the last half hour is a quiet road down to the sea.
